The Amsterdam School for Heritage, Memory and Material Culture (AHM) is pleased to announce the first lecture of the "Current Issues in Heritage, Memory and Archaeology" research seminar series convened by AHM for the RMA group in Archaeology and open to the entire research community.
Next Thursday, September 7th, starting at 3pm, architect Sabina Tanovic will kick start the conversations on materiality and memory with a lecture on commemorative architecture, and specifically discuss her ongoing architectural commission of the memorial museum and research center "Tunnel of Hope", dealing with the Siege of Sarajevo.
Dr. Sabina Tanovic holds a PhD from Delft University of Technology where she investigated the integration of bereavement in memorial design in her thesis "Memory in Architecture: Contemporary Memorial projects and their predecessors "(2015). More about her current research and practice here.
