Researchers of the Amsterdam School for Heritage, Memory and Material Culture and alumni of the Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage programme in the specialisation Contemporary Art are presenting their research projects conducted at the University of Amsterdam during Future Talks 019 in The Design Museum in München.
Future Talks 019

Future Talks 019 is a biennial three day congress on international research projects and case studies both on active conservation treatments of modern materials in design and modern art and on related material and technology science. This sixth edition of Future Talks, to be held from 11 to 13 November 2019, is focusing on modern surfaces. Hedwig Braam discusses her research on polishing high gloss surfaces, Alice Watkins on photogrammetry and painted outdoor sculpture, and Laura Wolfkamp on aqueous cleaning methods for silicone rubber. Their supervisors Evelyne Snijders and Sanneke Stigter are contributing as co-authors, as is Maarten van Bommel for AHM PhD candidate Anna Laganà who will be presenting her work on bonding of transparent Perspex objects. Alumna Carien van Aubel will be presenting the final results of Project Plastics.
