The Amsterdam School for Heritage, Memory and Material Culture is happy to announce the winner of the 2018 AHM PhD dissertation prize. We congratulate Annemiek Recourt for her outstanding dissertation, 'Moralist van de Ontrouw', which was defended in 2018.

Recourt’s dissertation is a biography of the twentieth century literary figure Jan Greshoff (1888-1971) who was active in almost all occupational fields of Dutch literature. Greshoff was a poet, an art critic, a journalist, a typograhper and a literary historiographer amongst other things, and a mentor to many Dutch literary luminaries of his time. He had an eye for new talent and, in turn, was admired for his literary activities, enthusiasm and loyalty by many  renowned literary players. The AHM PhD Prize includes a sum of money to encourage and develop Annemiek’s research activities.
