This research group intends to address the ways how practices of everyday life – the intangible expressions – are turned into forms of intangible cultural heritage. Through such processes of ‘heritagization’, intangible forms of the everyday are becoming subject to politics, juridical implications in an (inter-) national context, interference or subjection to global (UN) conventions, debates and controversies.
The research group aims at:
- Collaboration and exchange between researchers (improve quality of research on heritage dynamics)
- Exchange between researchers, “heritage professionals” and policy makers (impact of research results on heritage policy)
- Dissemination of the research results through publications, conferences, and/or public debates.
- Promotion of collaborative research projects through interaction between scholars at these meetings.
