I was part of the NWO-funded project TRACE (PI: Carolyn Birdsall) from March 2021-July 2023 as a postdoctoral researcher, leading the Central/Eastern European subproject focusing on radio archive history in Czechoslovakia and East Germany, 1930-1960.
Before joining the University of Amsterdam, I completed my doctoral thesis on the broadcasting conducted by the Czechoslovak Government-in-Exile in London during the Second World War (University of Bristol / Czech Radio) and worked in international social research. My research interests include Eastern-Central Europe in the twentieth century (with a particular focus on the former Czechoslovakia and East Germany), the history of radio and its use in propaganda, and the development and use of sound archives.
My monograph, Radio and the Performance of Government: Broadcasting by the Czechoslovaks in Exile in London, 1939-1945, will be published by Karolinum Press in October 2023.
