Luna Hupperetz is a PhD candidate for the AHM and ASCA research initiative on "critical audiovisual heritage." She has an interest in activist documentary cinema, practices of audiovisual re-use and collaborative film archival methodologies.For the past four years, she has worked as a program producer and curator at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA). As a film curator, she has been involved in the restoration and research of the recently restored decolonial film Oema foe Sranan (Women of Suriname, 1978). In light of this restoration, she co-directed and produced the short film A Battle Restored (Kiki Ho & Ananta Khemradj, 2022).
