I am graduated in Cultural Studies and Art Studies (ReMA), with minors in classical history and museum studies. During past travels to international institutes across Europe, I studied museums and exhibitions, narratives and the history of ideas, and will continue to do so in light of my PhD project. 

My interest for museums and the reception of the past has culminated into an external PhD-position at the Amsterdam School for Heritage, Memory and Material Culture (AHM). The project with the title Framing the medieval in museums provides a comprehensive and comparative reading of "the medieval" in museums throughout Western Europe. By exploring religious, political and cultural contexts that shaped museum narratives, the project aims to reveal why and how medieval heritage has come to play a significant role in identity and memory formation. 

Next to this project, I am the coordinator of the Grant Team at the FGw's research department. Together with grant advisors, project managers and policy officers I support researchers who want to apply for grants from national and international funding agencies.
